What is a penis extender?

It is a device for lengthening the penis by traction. You fit it with the penis flaccid, and it applies a constant, gradual force to the penile tissue that stimulates cell division (cytokinesis). Models come with adjustable rods, comfort straps and hypoallergenic materials. They are the only size-enhancement method with published clinical studies supporting permanent results. The trade-off is daily use of 4-6 hours for months, so you need consistency and patience.

Medically certified extender brands

The traction extenders in this section are from Male Edge (Jes-Extender) and Andro Medical (Andropenis and Androextender). Jes-Extender was the pioneer. It is a class I medical device in the EU, works with a system of rods and a calibrated spring, and was tested in the University of Turin study (2009). There are other well-known brands that are not currently in this section. SizeGenetics has 16 comfort positions and is FDA-approved. Phallosan Forte combines a vacuum system with a belt and can be worn at night. PeniMaster PRO is made in Germany and combines rods and vacuum.

How to choose

• System: rods with a spring, vacuum, or both. The product page says which one it uses and how the tension is increased.
• Fit: check whether it holds the glans with a strap, band or vacuum cup, and whether it includes pads or silicone straps.
• Materials: the product page states whether it is stainless steel and aluminium, plastic, silicone or rubber. Check this if you have any allergies.
• Spare parts: check whether replacement parts are available, such as the silicone replacement for the Jes-Extender. With such long daily use, it helps to be able to swap them.
• Extender or pump: this section only has extenders, which work by traction. Pumps work by vacuum and are in penis pumps; the Bathmate Hydromax and Hydroxtreme are hydro pumps and are used with water, in the shower or bath.

How much length can you gain with a penis extender?

Clinical studies report 1-3 cm in flaccid length and 0.5-1.5 cm erect, after 4-6 months of use at 4-6 hours a day. Results vary from one person to another, and there are no methods with clinical evidence that give faster results.

Do penis extenders hurt?

They should not. You should feel moderate, constant tension, never pain, and modern devices come with comfort pads, silicone straps and adjustment systems that spread the force. If it hurts, the tension is too high: take it off, go back to the minimum and increase it a little each week. If the pain continues or the penis feels numb or changes colour, stop using it and see a doctor.

What is the difference between an extender and a pump for enlarging the penis?
