Step by step
How to use Skins flavoured condoms
- Check, before opening it, that the wrapper is intact and the expiry date hasn't passed.
- Open it with your fingers, not scissors or teeth, so you don't damage the latex.
- Put it on when the penis is erect and before any genital contact. Pinch the tip so no air is trapped and roll it down to the base. If it won't unroll because it's inside out, use a new one.
- Add water-based or silicone-based lubricant if it feels like it's rubbing. Never use oils, petroleum jelly or creams.
- Pull out after ejaculating, while the penis is still erect. Hold the condom at the base so it doesn't slip off.
- Throw it away wrapped in tissue, never down the toilet.
After use
A condom can't be washed: you use it once and throw it away. Keep any you're not using in their wrappers, away from heat and direct sunlight. A wallet or a car glove box isn't a good place.
Our tips
- Don't use two condoms at once: the friction between them makes it easier for them to break.
- Use a new one if you change activity, for example from anal to vaginal sex.
- If you or your partner notice itching, stinging or irritation, stop and stop using them.
- If it breaks or slips off, stop. If there was a risk of pregnancy or infection, ask at a pharmacy or health centre about emergency contraception and STI testing.
