The essentials
Durex Sensitivo Suave: what you need to know before you buy
Is it for you?
Who the Durex Sensitivo Suave is for, and who it isn't
It suits you if…
- You want a thin, regular-size condom with a nominal width of 56 mm.
- You want one that comes with plenty of lubricant, in this case silicone.
- You prefer an anatomic Easy-on shape with a reservoir tip.
- Latex suits you and you are not allergic.
Better look elsewhere if…
- You are allergic to latex. It is made of natural rubber latex and can cause allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock. If you don't know whether you are allergic, talk to your doctor or pharmacist first.
- You need more room. Durex makes the Sensitivo XL, with a nominal width of 60 mm.
- 56 mm feels loose on you. Take a look at the Durex Natural Slim Fit, with a nominal width of 52 mm.
Step by step
How to put on the Durex Sensitivo Suave
- Check the expiry date on the wrapper. If the individual wrapper is clearly damaged, throw that condom away and use another one.
- Open it along the serrated edge with care. Fingernails and sharp objects can damage it.
- Put it on before the penis touches your partner. With the rim facing outwards, pinch the tip and place it on the head of the erect penis.
- Roll it down to the base. If it won't unroll, it may be inside out. Throw it away and use a new one.
- Check the fit. If it feels like it is slipping or it is too tight, stop, because it could break.
- When you finish, hold it at the base while you withdraw. Put it in the bin with its wrapper, never down the toilet.
After use
Do not wash it or keep it for later. It is single use, and reusing it can increase the risk of breakage and infections.
Manufacturer's warnings
- Do not use it if you are allergic to latex. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Stop using it if you feel discomfort or irritation. If it continues afterwards, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Only use lubricants recommended for use with condoms. Oil-based ones (petroleum jelly, baby oil, some pessaries) and other topical medicines on the penis or in the vagina can damage it.
- For anal sex, put extra lubricant on the outside of the condom. Do not use Durex Frescor or Lovers Connect.
- If you use it first for oral sex, put on a new one for any other activity that follows.
- If it breaks or leaks, talk to a pharmacist or a doctor as soon as possible, within the first 72 hours.
- Keep it out of the reach of children: there is a risk of suffocation.
