Is it for you?
Who the Darkness Mask is for, and who it isn't for

- You want to cover your partner's eyes without having to hold anything in place by hand.

Our usage tips
How to use the Darkness Mask
- Talk first about what you both want and what you don't, and agree on a safe word or a signal to stop.
- Adjust the elastic strap so the blindfold sits firmly but isn't too tight.
- Place it over the eyes, leaving the nose and mouth free.
- Check in often with your partner to see how they are, especially the first time.
Cleaning
Hand wash it with lukewarm water and mild soap, rinse it and dry it well before storing it.
Our tips
- The person wearing the blindfold must be able to take it off or ask to stop at any moment.
- Never leave someone alone with their eyes covered, especially if they are also tied up.
- If the strap is tight, uncomfortable or leaves a mark, loosen it.
- If you notice skin irritation, stop using it.
What the science says
What science says about communication in play with a partner
The studies we cite did not test this blindfold. What has been studied is the practice of talking and giving clear signals with your partner.
In three studies, the first with 392 adults, feeling a high level of internal consent and using explicit verbal signals were associated with greater sexual satisfaction and relationship satisfaction.
