The studies we cite did not test this lubricant. What has been studied is the use of lubricants in general, both water-based and silicone.
In a 5-week diary using six water-based or silicone lubricants, the water-based ones were associated with fewer genital symptoms than the silicone ones. Both types were associated with more pleasure and sexual satisfaction. The study does not establish cause and effect.
The five lubricants tested were effective and well tolerated in relieving the discomfort associated with vaginal dryness, including those formulated according to pH and osmolality guidelines.
