Sexmatch Roleplay Edition: what you need to know before you buy
Is it for you?
Who the Sexmatch Roleplay Edition is for, and who it isn't
It suits you if…
- You want a card game to play as a couple, with rules based on matching cards in turns.
- You want to try roleplay and would rather let the game decide where to start.
- You like the idea of a game with challenges you do on the spot, during the game.
- You want a small game, in a box 12 cm tall, about the size of a 33 cl soft drink can.
Better look elsewhere if…
- There are more than two of you. The rules are written for a couple.
- Roleplay isn't your thing. The whole prize of the game revolves around it.
- You prefer a game of questions or conversation, without challenges to do on the spot.
Step by step
How to play the Sexmatch Roleplay Edition
- Shuffle the 89 cards and deal 7 to each player. Leave the rest face down on the table as the draw pile.
- The older player starts by putting down the first card at random.
- Put down a matching card, by illustration or by word, to the one on the table. If you have no valid card, you draw one from the pile and miss your turn.
- Do the action on the card every time yours matches the previous one by word. You do it right then.
- Play a wild card on your turn whenever you like. The other person does the action it shows, and then you say a word and an illustration so they continue with one of the two.
- The first to run out of cards wins. That person picks which roleplay, from those that came up in the illustrations, they want to act out with their partner.
Storage
They are cards, so just store them dry in their box when you finish.
Our tips
- Before you start, talk about what you like and what you don't. If you aren't into a challenge or a role, you can skip it.
- Agree on a word or a signal to stop at any time, including during the roleplay.
- Winning the game doesn't oblige the other person. The role chosen has to appeal to both of you.
