What the science says
What science says about water-based lubricants
The studies we cite did not test this lubricant. What has been studied is how women who use water-based lubricants fare compared with those using silicone ones.
For 5 weeks they used one of six water-based or silicone lubricants. Water-based ones were associated with fewer genital symptoms than silicone ones, and both types with more pleasure and satisfaction. This is an association, not cause and effect.
