Our usage tips

How to use the Darkness Black Necklace with Chain

Agree beforehand on a word or signal to stop, and always respect it.
Adjust the collar to the wearer's neck so they can breathe, swallow and speak without effort.
Fasten the buckle and lock it if you both want to.
Attach the chain to the D-ring with the swivel clip and hold the leash by the loop at the end.

Cleaning

Dry it well after use and store it somewhere dry, without folding the collar.

Our advice

The collar goes around the neck. Do not pull the leash hard or suddenly.
Never tighten it so much that it makes breathing difficult. You should be able to fit one finger between the collar and the neck.
Do not leave the wearer alone, especially with the buckle locked.
Always keep the means of opening the fastening within reach.
Take it off straight away if there is dizziness, pain, tingling or a change in the colour of the face.
If you notice skin irritation, stop using it.

What the science says

What science says about consent between partners

The studies we cite did not test this collar. What has been studied is how consent is communicated and given between partners, which is fundamental in any play involving a collar and leash.

392

adults in couples

Feeling a high level of internal consent and using explicit verbal cues was associated with greater sexual and relationship satisfaction. The study looks at communication between partners, not BDSM or collars.
