What the science says
What the science says about lubricant in anal sex
The studies we cite did not test this lubricant. What was studied is the use of lubricant in anal sex, and in this case a water-based one, not a silicone one.
In this diary study, water-based lubricant was associated with greater pleasure and sexual satisfaction in anal sex with a penis, compared with not using lubricant. It refers to water-based lubricant, not silicone.
