Our usage tips
How to use the Stertoy UV Sterilizer
- Wash the item as its manufacturer instructs and rinse it.
- Dry it completely before putting it in the steriliser.
- Place it inside without piling items up, so the light reaches the whole surface.
- Switch the steriliser on following its instructions and keep to the exposure time they give.
After use
We have not confirmed the cleaning instructions for the steriliser itself. Our own tip: clean it while it is switched off, without wetting or submerging it, and do not touch the lamp or the quartz tube.
Our tips
- Ultraviolet light only acts on the surface it reaches and does not remove lubricant residue or dirt: it does not replace washing.
- Do not look at the lamp when it is on and do not expose your skin to its light.
- Before putting a toy in, check the manufacturer's cleaning instructions.
- If the lamp or the quartz tube cracks or breaks, stop using it.
- Keep it out of the reach of children.

Questions
Stertoy UV Sterilizer: frequently asked questions
Does the Stertoy UV Sterilizer need chemicals?
No. It sanitises with an ultraviolet light lamp, without using chemicals.
What is inside the Stertoy UV Sterilizer?
A sanitising case with an interior polished like a mirror. Inside there is a quartz tube and, inside the tube, the ultraviolet lamp.
How big is the Stertoy UV Sterilizer?
25.9 × 14.9 × 9.1 cm (10.2 × 5.9 × 3.6 in). The longest side is just under the long side of an A4 sheet of paper (29.7 cm (11.7 in)) and the second is about the length of a BIC Cristal pen (around 15 cm (5.9 in)). These are the measurements of the steriliser: we have not confirmed the interior ones, so we cannot tell you which items fit.
How effective is the Stertoy UV Sterilizer?
Its stated effectiveness at eliminating viruses and bacteria is 99.9%. We have not confirmed which test this figure comes from.
How do you use the Stertoy UV Sterilizer?
We have not confirmed how it is switched on, how it is powered or how long each cycle lasts, so follow the instructions for the steriliser. Our tip: put in items that are washed and dry, spaced apart from each other, and do not look at the lamp when it is on.
Does the Stertoy UV Sterilizer replace washing your toys?
Do not use it instead of washing. This is our own tip: ultraviolet light only acts on the surface it reaches and does not remove lubricant residue or dirt. Wash and dry the toy first as its manufacturer instructs, then use the steriliser as an extra step.
Is the Stertoy UV Sterilizer suitable for any sex toy?
The product information presents it for sex toys and other personal items. We have not confirmed which materials it supports, so check each toy's cleaning instructions first.
