What the science says
What the science says about water-based lubricants
The studies we cite did not test ID Glide. What they looked at is the use of lubricants, both water-based and silicone.
In a 5-week diary, water-based lubricants were associated with fewer genital symptoms than silicone ones. Both types were associated with more pleasure and sexual satisfaction. The study does not show cause and effect.
The five lubricants tested, including those formulated in line with pH and osmolality guidelines, were effective and well tolerated for relieving the discomfort associated with vaginal dryness. ID Glide was not among them.
